Difference Between Binomial Proportions Using Newcombe’s Method With Multiple Imputation for Incomplete Data

چکیده
The difference between two binomial proportions is commonly used in applied research. Since many studies encounter incomplete data, proper methods to analyze such data are needed. Here, we present a multiple imputation (MI) procedure for constructing confidence interval using Newcombe’s method, which known have better coverage probability when compared with Wald’s method. We use both conventional MI ignorable missingness and two-stage non-ignorable missingness. Using simulation studies, compare our method three other provide recommendation the of practice. In addition, show application new on COVID-19 dataset.

Multiple Imputation for Incomplete Data With Semicontinuous Variables
We consider the application of multiple imputation to data containing not only partially missing categorical and continuous variables, but also partially missing ‘semicontinuous’ variables (variables that take on a single discrete value with positive probability but are otherwise continuously distributed). As an imputation model for data sets of this type, we introduce an extension of the stand...
متن کاملImproved confidence intervals for the difference between binomial proportions based on paired data.
Existing methods for setting confidence intervals for the difference theta between binomial proportions based on paired data perform inadequately. The asymptotic method can produce limits outside the range of validity. The 'exact' conditional method can yield an interval which is effectively only one-sided. Both these methods also have poor coverage properties. Better methods are described, bas...
متن کاملMultiple imputation and analysis for high‐dimensional incomplete proteomics data
Multivariable analysis of proteomics data using standard statistical models is hindered by the presence of incomplete data. We faced this issue in a nested case-control study of 135 incident cases of myocardial infarction and 135 pair-matched controls from the Framingham Heart Study Offspring cohort. Plasma protein markers (K = 861) were measured on the case-control pairs (N = 135), and the maj...
متن کاملScore intervals for the difference of two binomial proportions
In this communication, we reconsider the approach to the constrained maximum likelihood estimation of asymptotic score intervals for the difference of two independent binomial proportions proposed by Miettinen and Nurminen (M&N) in 1985. Then we review the subsequent biometric literature regarding the accuracy of the coverage probabilities of the different methods, and respond to the unfavorabl...
متن کاملA new imputation method for incomplete binary data
In data analysis problems where the data are represented by vectors of real numbers, it is often the case that some of the data points will have “missing values”, meaning that one or more of the entries of the vector that describes the data point is not known. In this paper, we propose a new approach to the imputation of missing binary values. The technique we introduce employs a “similarity me...
